Our living room really needed an update. The old student futon should have been left in the student-life days. Some color coordination needed to take place. Bit by bit we started adding furniture and accents to the living room area. Here are the before and after pics:

After a few months of searching for the furniture style that matches our taste, we finally found it! Here is a list of where we found everything:

So, as you can see, none of these pieces are from top of the line brand names, but carefully choosing pieces from various stores gives it a decent look. Also, Home Goods has the best accent chairs and rugs. Ever. At discounted prices.

The Etsy pillow is from DeliciousPillows. I found it to be really good quality and would recommend it. The yellow makes the room feel like it's spring year round! Very cheerful color.
There's beautiful stud detailing on the back of the Cynthia Rowley chairs.
And the damask print is just gorgeous!
