Ok, so let's be real. Apartments don't have huge walk-in pantries. We have to make do with cabinets. For the longest time I was having trouble with this small "pantry" because it was hard to organize. Things were behind other things and you just couldn't tell what you had. I don't know what took me so long but I finally decided to invest in an Over the Door Pantry Organizer. Our laundry room is in the kitchen (ask the builders why) so it was the perfect door to hang the organizer on! Very pleased with the purchase, it works well for rented apartments.
Here are some pics of the before and after:
I can finally see all of the things I have on hand in the house. Also, there is room to grow on the door organizer. And honestly, I need to work more on building up my canned goods storage. We are currently in a state of emergency due to the weather (the South evidently can't handle icy roads) and are not supposed to leave the house. Always need to remember to keep a nice amount of canned food stocked up for situations like this. In emergency situations, if the electricity goes out, all of the food in the fridge and freezer will begin to rot, and you only have canned food to depend on. Thankfully we have electricity but this situation reminds me to stock up on more cans and salsa (for flavor).
These over the door organizers are great because there is space behind the front cans for narrow and tall jars, so you can really pack it. It's ideal to use command hooks to anchor it into place.
If you're interested in buying this organizer, you can get it from here.
