Erin Condren Planner DIY Dashboard!

Last year, I did an in-depth review of the Martha Stewart discbound planner, and I plan to do the same at the end of January for the planner I purchased this year: The Erin Condren Life Planner. However, I got a bit excited after customizing it and thought I'd show you a sneak peak of one section: the dashboard!

In the first few pages, you land on these two pages:

Cute, but could be more functional! Since it's the beginning of the planner, I decided to make it the background of my dashboards.

I used some transparent Project Life cardstock paper that I got 50% off at Michael's after using the coupon and some sticky notes of my choice. Just make sure not to add too many sticky notes or it will become too bulky.

If you ever plan to purchase an Erin Condren planner, the add on coil clips are a MUST for personalizing your planner! My only regret is getting one pack instead of two. You  can pull out the coil clips and move them to different parts of your planner or use different inserts at different times. There are so many options and I can't wait to show them to you in the end of January!

To attach the sticky notes to the cardstock, I used scrapbooking adhesive tape which is double sided. It was for $2.99 at Michael's.

If you're interested in buying the Erin Condren Life Planner for yourself, feel free to use my referral link which gives you $10 off your purchase!

I hope this post was helpful to you! Don't forget to Like this Page on Facebook and Follow me on Pinterest for more updates!

How do you personalize your planner? I'd love to hear about it!

  1. I did start a planner in 2014... i used a small 3-ring binder and printed out my own pages, and decorated them. I kind of let it lapse, though. Sadly, I just didn't have many things in my life that I needed to keep up with ... unless I wrote "Go to work" on every single page!

    1. Hi Angel! Seems like the Month at a Glance option would better suit you in this case. I also mainly used the daily planners for busier days in 2014, but the Month at a Glance was very useful throughout the year! Hope that helps, happy planning! :)

  2. This is such a cute planner. I'm still debating with myself whether I want to order one. Okay, so I do want to order one, but I'm debating whether I want to fork over the money for one, LOL! I mean, I have a perfectly good planner now. But I want a pretty one like EC!

    1. Hi Jodi! Thanks for dropping by :) I know, this planner is SUPER cute and so tempting! I actually waited two years to buy it because of the price, but I thought if it's been on my mind for so long then I should go for it. YOLO, lol :P If you have a functional planner for this year already how about making it pretty yourself by personalizing it and then buying an EC in summer or in 2016?

Off to check out your blog now :)

  3. Hi! Where did you get the sticky notes? Did they come with the planner? I'm in the middle of designing/printing my own planner, and they would be perfect! :) Thanks!

  4. Hi Mary! Thanks so much for leaving a comment! No, the sticky notes were bought separately. The letter ones were from CVS or Walgreens, and the banner ones and checklist were from Target. You can also find post its on Amazon.

Btw, you have such an awesome blog name but no posts :( That makes me sad...those are my favorite colors! :)

    2. Thanks Seher! I have dreams of one day starting an interior design business, and that was the name I chose for my business. My favorite colors too! I have a little 7 month old now who takes up most of my time, but I hope some day when he's older that Coral Loves Teal becomes more than just an empty blog! Thanks for the tip, I'll have to check those stores out!

  5. Great blog. I really enjoyed it. I would love to know if you made the corner pockets in the front of you planner or if you purchased them (where and what are the called). Keep up the great writing.

    1. Hi Diane, thanks for leaving a comment! I bought the pockets from The Container Store. Hope you have one nearby! I bought them over two years ago so don't remember what they were called but the stationery section there is quite small so you're sure to find it!
